A collection of some of my written works.
I took a minor in creative writing in University, and have been writing short prose & poetry pieces for the better portion of my life. Here are some snippets of those pieces of work, including links to the complete pieces.

Sae's Wonderful Adventures
This is one of my pet favourite pieces. Technically it’s probably not the most impressive thing i’ve written but I prefer writing pieces with humour and whimsy in its tone.
At the same time, I like to leave space for more serious tones to breathe. The balancing act between these two opposing feelings is difficult but one that I find both compelling and necessary for me as a writer. -
Hans and Lumi
A multi-part poem written as a fairytale fable. A tongue in cheek look at the trope of a hero fighting for his damsel in distress.
This poem was pretty challenging, as I made it with the express intention of keeping within a proper rhyme scheme, taking into account the syllables of each sentence as well. -
Mr & Mrs Kibbles
I had a ton of fun with this piece. It’s a tongue in cheek short story about two cats.
It’s whimsy under the guise of a serious narrator, and I find that contrast so enjoyable to write and read as well. -
Yellow Light
This is a short story very loosely based on the Of Monsters and Men song of the same name. It’s an allegorical tale about the dangers of obsession.
It was one of the first pieces of Magic Realism that I wrote after playing Kentucky Route Zero. I love the genre because it means I get to think of cool, creepy stuff and explain nothing! (For the most part) -
Portrait of a Human
This short poem about the human condition was conceived while I was sitting on a bus staring at nothing in particular.
I wrote it quite some time ago, but I like the brevity of it, and how spontaneously it came into being.

A boy, a girl, and a gun.
This play was initially written as a short story where I wanted to experiment with an extremely simple premise.
Two main actors and a central conflict - a gun. The stakes are set from the title itself, and things only escalate from there.
